Good weather helps start of Hiratsuka-grown 'Harumi' rice harvest

The locally branded ‘Harumi’ rice from Hiratsuka, noted for its luster and sweetness and for staying tasty when cooled, has reached harvest season. On 14 September the Hiratsuka Central Rice Center, which handles work for the Kaneda, Asahi and Okazaki districts of Hiratsuka City, began contracted harvesting operations.
