Takeshi Shiraiwa, 52, a project manager for Tanaka Precious Metals Co., Ltd., is based in Hiratsuka City and oversees the TANAKA H2 Nexus hydrogen fuel cell power facility that started operating in the city in July 2026. Shiraiwa said he looks forward to the company’s first domestic challenges with hydrogen power and is optimistic about the project’s potential. The facility uses hydrogen to generate electricity and represents a new step for Tanaka Precious Metals in energy technology.
