Kaya nuts ripen for first time at Oiso Sports Park
運動公園で古代食? カヤの実が熟成
A kaya tree planted more than ten years ago in the north parking lot of Oiso Sports Park in Kōfumoto has borne fruit for the first time, and its nuts became harvestable starting in September. Park staff noted the trees were planted over a decade ago and this is the first documented crop, drawing local interest because kaya nuts are associated with ancient diets. The fruiting was captured in photographs at the site, and park officials expect the nuts to attract attention from visitors and researchers interested in traditional foods.
