Shonan NewsŌfuna Kannon to be lit orange on 'Dementia Day' September 21
認知症の日の９月21日に大船観音をオレンジ色にライトアップ 鑑賞会や夜カフェを実施
On September 21 (Monday, a public holiday), the white-robed Kannon statue at Ōfuna Kannon-ji in Kamakura (address Okamoto 1-5-3) will be illuminated in orange, the symbol color for dementia. The temple and an associated general incorporated association will hold an evening viewing event and a night cafe, aiming to raise awareness about dementia and provide a relaxed space for visitors. The lighting and events coincide with ‘Dementia Day’ activities to promote understanding and community support.
