Hiroshi Niikura, active in Yokosuka peace groups including ‘ヨコスカ平和船団’ and ‘非核市民宣言運動・ヨコスカ’, has produced a unique ‘Dobuita Guide’ centered on Dobuita Street. The guide examines local ‘base culture’ and the town’s history as a gateway to U.S. military facilities, offering Niikura’s independent perspective. It aims to prompt reflection on how the community developed around the presence of the bases and to provide residents and visitors with historical and cultural context.
