Hiratsuka City: Elderly Rate 29.2%, Up 2.6% in Ten Years

Ahead of Respect for the Aged Day on September 21, Hiratsuka City honored long-lived residents, including those turning 99 (hakujū) and 88 (beijū), in recognition of their contributions to society. The city noted its elderly population ratio has risen to 29.2%, up 2.6 percentage points compared with ten years earlier.
