Zuyu Regional Medical Center to Cut Some Services After Operating Deficit; Cities to Cover ¥170,000,000
逗葉地域医療センター 赤字経営で一部事業廃止 両市町、約1億7千万円補填へ
The Zuyu Regional Medical Center, a public-interest incorporated foundation in Ikego funded by Zushi City, Hayama Town, and the Zuyu Medical Association, has been operating at a deficit. As a result, the center will discontinue its health screening and examination services at the end of fiscal 2026. To stabilize operations, Zushi City and Hayama Town plan to provide a combined subsidy of approximately ¥170,000,000. The move reflects local efforts to keep essential medical functions running despite financial strains.
