Kamakura Firefighter Yasutaka Takekawa Wins National Rope-Bridge Event

Yasutaka Takekawa, 26, who belongs to the Kamakura City Fire Department’s Fukasawa substation, represented Kanagawa Prefecture at the National Fire Rescue Skills Competition and recorded the top time in the rope-bridge crossing. The competition tests specialized rescue techniques used by firefighters, and Takekawa’s performance earned him first place in that discipline. The Kamakura Fire Department highlighted his achievement as a point of pride for the local department.
