Flooded Road Spots Identified in City; Slow Down When Visibility Is Poor

During the August 13–14, 2026 “Reiwa 8 August Chiba Heavy Rain,” many people were trapped inside vehicles on flooded roads. The Kanto Regional Development Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism listed locations prone to road inundation, including sites within the city, and urged drivers to slow down when visibility is poor. Authorities emphasized awareness of low-lying and flood-prone stretches and cautioned that even seemingly shallow water can immobilize cars.
