Soul-stirring Festival Music: Ooba Higashimachi's Unfailing Pride

The festival music passed down in the Ooba district echoed again as part of the Ooba Higashimachi Furusato Festival on August 29. About 30 children from the Taiko Preservation Society paraded through the town playing taiko drums and shinobue flutes. The performance kept local tradition alive and drew attention from residents as the community marked another year of the ritual.
