Third-grader Nanoharu Fujita takes national karate runner-up in kumite

At the 68th National Elementary and Middle School Karate Championships held August 1–2 in Miyagi, Kamakura’s Sekiya Elementary third-grader Fujita Nanoharu finished as runner-up in the girls’ third-grade kumite division. Fujita, who trains with Shokukan Kamakura, advanced through the tournament to reach the final and earned the national silver medal. The result marks a major achievement for the young athlete and her local karate club.
