Hiratsuka High School Students Devise Eco-Friendly Fishing Port Tour

Kensei Fushiguro, a first-year student at Kojo High School, and Sorane Urakawa, a first-year student at Shonan High School, both from Hiratsuka City, devised a tour that lets visitors enjoy fishing ports, local food and Hiratsuka’s natural sites with environmental consideration. This summer they presented the tour at an international student conference held in Turkey. Their project focuses on balancing tourism and conservation, highlighting sustainable practices for local fisheries and natural areas.
