Chigasaki City and Samukawa Town Offer Subsidies for Seismic Upgrades to Wooden Houses

Chigasaki City and Samukawa Town have set up subsidy programs for seismic diagnosis and reinforcement of wooden houses to prepare for large earthquakes. In Chigasaki, eligibility for a seismic diagnosis subsidy requires the house to have been started on or before 1981-05-31 under the old seismic standards. Both municipalities aim to encourage owners to assess and strengthen older wooden homes to reduce earthquake damage risk.
