Shrine’s Beloved Cat Kouta Digitized in 3D
癒しの看板猫、後世に? 鵠沼伏見稲荷神社のコウタが3Dデータ化
Kouta, a 15-year-old male ginger tabby cat known as the mascot of Kugenuma Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kugenuma Kaigan and beloved locally as “Shonan’s Inari,” has been scanned and turned into 3D data to preserve his likeness. The cat, famous for patrolling the shrine grounds with round, attentive eyes and greeting visitors, will have his image archived so future generations can remember him. The shrine priest, Tamura Susumu, oversees the project aimed at conserving Kouta’s presence digitally.
