Postal worker prevents fraud, receives commendation from Ofuna Police

Takahashi Shinsuke, 41, of the Kamakura Ofuna San Post Office received a letter of appreciation from the Ofuna Police Station on July 30 for preventing a special fraud. In early June, he noticed an elderly woman making consecutive bank withdrawals and intervened after recognizing signs of a scam, helping to avoid financial loss. The police presented the commendation in recognition of his vigilance and quick action to protect a vulnerable resident.
