Chigasaki Resident Proposes Sign Language Expression for Yokohama Green Expo Mascot 'TunkTunk'

The Kanagawa Prefectural Federation for the Deaf held a presentation on July 22 to announce a sign language expression for the official mascot ‘TunkTunk’ of the Yokohama Green Expo, which opens in March next year. The sign was proposed by Minato, a Chigasaki City resident, and was demonstrated at the event. The federation said adopting a standardized sign helps make the mascot and the expo more accessible to deaf and hard-of-hearing people.
