Yuki Shigeta, a third-grade student at Hiratsuka Municipal Kanda Elementary School, took third place in the Cub boys’ division (grades 3–4) at the All-Japan Table Tennis Championships held July 24–26. He was the only third-grader to advance to the later rounds and claimed third despite facing older opponents. The result marks a strong national showing in a tournament that determines Japan’s top elementary school players.
