Support Spreads in Kamakura for Kumamoto Earthquake Relief

After the Kumamoto earthquake that registered a maximum intensity of 7 on July 28, support efforts reached Kamakura. On July 31, neighborhood crime-prevention group Kamakura Guardians and student disaster-awareness group Genkai organized street fundraising and other relief activities. Additional community groups and performers have scheduled charity concerts and similar events to raise donations and awareness for the affected areas. Organizers said they aim to continue local fundraising and public education to sustain long-term support for recovery.
