Kamakura spiny lobster season opens after closed period

Spiny lobster fishing reopened at the Shonan Fishermen’s Cooperative Kamakura branch on August 1 after the no-fishing period from June 1 to July 31. Shipments for the season have begun and about the same number of local fishers are currently going out to catch spiny lobster. The lobsters were once marketed as “Kamakura ebi,” reflecting their local identity.
