Hiratsuka Yokouchi Junior High Band Wins First-Ever Gold at Nishi-Shō Wind Music Contest

Hiratsuka Municipal Yokouchi Junior High School’s wind ensemble, coached by Asahi Haruguchi and composed of 33 members, won the program’s first-ever gold medal in the Middle School B division at the 27th Nishi-Shō Wind Music Contest held July 24 at Hadano City Cultural Hall. Their achievement qualified them to advance to a prefectural-level competition. The school and community celebrated the milestone as a historic accomplishment for the newly formed club.
