Prayers for a Bountiful Harvest and Thanks to Farm Tools at Rokusho Shrine
豊穣祈り 農具へ感謝 六所神社で万鍬禮祭
The Mangareisai, a ritual expressing gratitude to farming implements and praying for abundant crops, took place July 20 at Rokusho Shrine in Ōiso Town under head priest Takamichi Yanagida. The ceremony centers on the mangwa, a wooden-handled iron implement resembling a wide fork, and participants offered thanks for tools and prayed for the coming harvest. The event continues a local tradition linking agricultural practice and Shinto ritual at the shrine.
