Shonan NewsBonbori Festival at Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Features Work by Yuusei Matsui

The Bonbori Festival at Tsurugaoka Hachimangu runs through August 9 and marks its 88th edition, having started in 1938 with help from the Kamakura Pen Club to promote local culture. Many artists and writers contribute decorated paper lanterns, including work by Yuusei Matsui, author of Nige Jouzu no Wakagimi. The event attracts numerous visitors each year and showcases Kamakura’s cultural heritage.
